15th August 2009 - Monnow Valley regular, Bob Marlette, has been working his
magic with Kerrang! award winners, Slaves To Gravity
1st August 2009 - All of us at Monnow Valley are recovering from Monmouth
Festival. As one of the main sponsors, we brought in The Pigeon Detectives and
Uncle Funk, amongst others, to make it one of the most successful free festivals
in the UK. Thanks to all the bands who played and the audience for making the
atmosphere so special
24th July 2009 - Feeder return to Wales to start work on their next studio
album in Monnow Valley
12th July 2009 - Jim Abbiss has just finished working on an album session
with Polydor's new signings, Detroit Social Club
29th June 2009 - We have upgraded our digital recording system. The control
room now boasts an 8-Core Mac Pro running Pro Tools 8.0
24th June 2009 - John Goodmanson has returned to Monnow Valley to mix the new
album for Los Campesinos. He also managed to find time to produce a track for
their label-mates Sky Larkin
15th June 2009 - Fight The Empire have new tracks recorded at Monnow Valley
with producer Jim Lowe available on their MySpace page
23rd May 2009 - Slaves To Gravity have been in the studio recording tracks
ahead of their album session with US producer Bob Marlette
8th May 2009 - We have new microphones: A pair of Royer R-121
ribbon mics (with sequential
serial numbers) and a Shure SM7B
3rd May 2009 - Congratulations to The Enemy who entered the UK album chart at
Number 2 with their album, Music For The People recorded at Monnow Valley in
December 2008

31st January 2009 - Broken Records have just finished their debut album for
Beggars Banquet with producer Ian Caple
8th January 2009 - Producer Bob Marlette takes a break from America to work
with his new rock discovery, Heaven's Basement
22nd December 2008 - The Enemy have completed a 5 week session recording
their new album, and loved the studio so much they have left us a signed guitar.
15th November 2008 - BAND CREATES A MASTERPIECE IN NEW ALBUM News of the World interview The View about the making of the new album, Which Bitch, recorded at Monnow Valley
this summer
6th November 2008 - Following a final mixing session with Jim Anderson, Dan
Dunne & The Reels have mastered their debut album with John Davis at Metropolis.
The band are available to sign and looking for management
31st October 2008 - Monmouth Festival Battle of the Band winners, The
Anti-Podes, come in to record two songs
23rd October 2008 - Norman Kelsey, who recorded at Monnow Valley back in 2006
has received eight Grammy Award entries. Norman is now one step away from being
an official nominee. We've reserved a place on our mantelpiece for your award!
16th October 2008 - A big thanks to EA Games for supplying us with a number
of games including Rock Band, currently being 'tested' by The Pigeon Detectives
in between writing and recording their third album at Monnow Valley
19th September 2008 - Elliott Minor have been in the studio to record several
songs for their next album, before jetting off to Japan to shoot a video.
18th August 2008 - Midlands based artists Out of Karma have just completed a
session with producer James Lewis. This hotly tipped new band will be inking a
record deal with a newly resurrected classic label in the near future. Watch
this space!
29th July 2008 - It's been a busy week with the Studio sponsoring the
Festival. We had Natty Wailer's band over on Saturday. And London-based Dan
Dunne & The Reels in the studio this week too.
11th July 2008 - Congratulations to The Anti-Podes who won the Monmouth
Festival, Battle of the Bands last night at the Three Horseshoes. As well as a
spot on the main stage at the festival, they also win £3000 worth of recording
time at Monnow Valley Studio. We look forward to seeing you, guys!
7th July 2008 - Listed on our
Recording Equipment page, we have new microphones and effects pedals.
7th July 2008 - Producer John
Goodmanson who has worked with Deathcab for Cutie, The Blood Brothers, Sepultura, and others has
flown over this week to work with Welsh band Los Campesinos.
